Sports Massage, Deep Tissue Massage & Soft Tissue Therapy
Soft tissue therapy, also known as sport massage, is a treatment that works with the soft tissues of the body, including the muscles, fascia, ligaments and connective tissue.
And yes, it is for EVERY BODY, not just for ‘sporty’ types.
And yes, it can be for regular whole-body maintenance or a one-off or set of treatments.
And no, you don’t have to be injured.
And yes, the benefits of a soft tissue massage do go way beyond your body…
Using a variety of techniques including deep tissue and trigger point work and METs (muscle energising techniques), the benefits of treatment include:
– Alleviating muscular discomfort, aches and pain due to tightness and imbalances
– Improving the range of motion in your joints
– Alleviating tension/stress, enhancing levels of relaxation and helping to improve your sleep
– Stimulating circulation, reducing inflammation and aiding overall healthy function of your body’s systems
– Helping to promote soft tissue repair and thus reducing recovery time
– Preventing injury and improving performance in all movement (e.g. everyday life!)
How is this different from a ‘normal’ massage?
Unlike a traditional ‘spa style’ massage, a treatment with Samm will always start with a chat and assessment of how you are moving, and feeling about your movement, so before you even get on the couch, we have a good idea of how to get the best out of the treatment time, targeting any areas of concern. After your treatment, Samm will provide advice and help with specific exercises to prolong the benefits.
Appointments available Thursdays @ The Family Chiropractic Centre, 87 Trowbridge Road, Bradford on Avon BA15 1EG, and Fridays by private appointment.
